There would be no Festival without the incredible hard work and enthusiasm from our volunteers. From the core committee of organisers and workers in the Popular Art Centre who come together each year to prepare the Festival, to the hundreds of youth who help during the performances, the work needed to organise and run such a Festival is formidable. Many young people are now regular Festival volunteers and their work is varied - from looking after the visiting groups or working in the press group, to producing the opening and closing ceremonies and compering each evening, organising the children's programme and film festival, lobbying for sponsors and advertising, organising ticket sales, building the stage, producing the Festival newspaper, to helping with security and cleaning. This work is coordinated by Khaled Elayyan (Director of the Popular Art Centre), Sireen Huleileh (Al-Funoun Popular Dance Troupe member), and Mohammed Ata (Board member of the Popular Art Centre and Al-Funoun's choreographer), together with an administrative committee - thanks to them and the volunteers for all their hard work!
