Dutch Institution and Birzeit University Discuss Future Cooperation in Water Studies

Professor Wim van Vierssen, director of the Infrastructure Hydraulics Environment Institute (IHE) in Delft, Holland, visited Birzeit University on March 21, 2001 and met with the President of the University, vice-presidents, deans and interested faculty members, to discuss means of cooperation in Water Science and Engineering.

During his visit, Professor Vierssen displayed the possible future cooperation between IHE and UNESCO, hoping that Birzeit University will become a partner in the network of water studies institutes in the region.

It is worth mentioning that Birzeit University launched a Master's program in water engineering in cooperation with IHE in 1997. So far, seven students have graduated and are currently working in various national institutions in Palestine.
