IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
LAWE INITIATING CAMPAIGN TO REGISTER PALESTINIAN CLAIMS TO PROPERTY IN THE WESTERN PART OF JERUSALEM
Attention all Palestinians Who Own Property In The Western Part of Jerusalem
Land and Water Establishment for Studies and Legal Services requests all Palestinians who own property in the western part of Jerusalem and which was confiscated during or after the war of 1948 to contact Land and Water Establishment. LAWE is creating a database of all Palestinian property claims in the western half of the city to ensure that either restitution of the property and/or fair compensation remains on the agenda during the final status negotiations. LAWE will also analyse the database in the context of Israeli and international law, and for implications on the peace talks. LAWE is establishing an advisory committee of international law experts to provide legal assistance, and will organise a follow-up committee from the landowners to ensure that this issue remains on the public agenda.
Two additional offices have been opened in Jordan and Kuwait to facilitate the registration of claims in these countries. Advocate Mohammed Ayyash Milhem in Amman is taking claims on behalf of this project. His telephone number is: (962) (6) 682515, and his fax: (962) (6) 606900. His son, advocate Ammar Mohammed Ayyash Milhem, is facilitating this project in Kuwait.
Therefore all people with claims and supporting documentation to land in Jerusalem, lost during or after 1948, is requested to contact either the Amman or Kuwaiti office, or to contact LAWE by telephone, fax, mail or email - Telephone: (972) (2) 812364/824559.
