Action Against Settlement Expansion Continues
The Lawyers of Land and Water Est. have petitioned the Court against the settlers' work in Al Janiyah Village
Lawyers from Land and Water Est petitioned the Military Objection Committee in Ramallah on Tuesday 3 January, asking them to halt the settlers' construction on lands belonging to Al Janiyah Village. The Committee is scheduled to hear this case on 19 January 1995, a date which was set some time ago. The Committee agreed only in part to the petition submitted by lawyers for Land and Water, ordering a temporary stop to the construction until Sunday 8 January. On Sunday, they will discuss terminating the work until the case is heard on 19 January. Lawyers for Land and Water Est. were surprised by this order, pointing out that the Committee should have ordered a stop to the work until 19 January, when the case will be heard in court.
