Land and Water Establishment's offices have just been notified of two urgent developments:
1) The Israeli military has, this morning, cordoned off the area surrounding the Ambassador Hotel just one hour before the scheduled press conference of Land and Water Est., called to cover the developments in Al Khader. No press has been allowed to enter until this time.
2) The Israeli civil authority in the West Bank yesterday called in for questioning one lawyer and one human rights activist on their role in organizing demonstrations against Israeli settlement expansion in Kufur Labad and Al Khader.
This type of intimidation is not only contrary to the spirit of the peace process, but also impedes the peaceful demonstrations held by the Palestinians to protect their land.
Land and Water Establishment calls for an end to settlement activity and to the government's intimidating actions, and demands the right to carry out its activities unimpeded as stipulated in the peace agreements.
