PROFESSIONAL TRAINING COURSES

The Center is putting on the following professional training programs for the Palestinian legal community with the sponsorship of the British Council and Australian International Legal Resources.

• Administrative Contract procedure and drafting (June 1996). This 2-day workshop dealt with how to properly put a government contract out to tender, to receive bids and how to select the best bid. It also concentrated on how to properly draft contracts with the successful bidder. Government legal experts from Jordan trained Palestinians legal personnel from the various government ministries and municipalities.
• Legal writing and drafting for lawyers (June - July 1996). Without a unified bar association, there has been little or no focus on these essential legal skills. This 8-week course concentrates on how to properly draft documents such as rental leases, articles of incorporation with emphasis on practical exercises.
