Training Content - Structure
Module 1. Software Quality overview
Introduction to the problem of software quality and improvement. Executive overview of the subsequent training modules. Feedback from trainees on their current level of knowledge and experience, their needs and preferences, in order to adjust the content and pace of the subsequent presentations.
Module 2. ISO 9001 applied to software quality
Provides a clear understanding about the contents, purpose and use of the ISO 9001 and ISO 9000-3 standards. Rational for adopting a programme leading to ISO 9001 certification and the groundwork to be established for success.
Module 3. Evolutionary models for software quality improvement
Background on the birth and evolution of SEI’s CMM, BOOTSTRAP, TRILLIUM, SPICE (future ISO 15504). Explains how an organisation can complement ISO 9001 with an adopted evolutionary model. It finally, clarifies the assessment approach and the groundwork to be established for success.
Module 4. Other Best Practices for Software Quality Improvements
Survey of SPI approaches alternative or complementary to the ones presented in modules 2 and 3. It will also provide a link to concrete achievements and experiences in projects funded by the CEC.
Training on: how to design, organise and implement actions aimed at materialising the purposes of the IT node, how to follow up the implementation of these actions, and how to evaluate the effectiveness and redesign actions in the future.
