The Preparatory Committee for the Second International Conference for Palestinian Studies is pleased to announce the convening of its annual Conference which will address the theme of Palestinian Education: Historical, Contemporary Status and a Vision for the Future.
Through different panels, participants in the Conference will discuss critically:
The preparatory Committee is keen on attendance of international scholars who can make a contribution to the proceedings by providing critical analysis of systems in their countries. These could be quite helpful to Palestinian Educational Planners.
National and International scholars with broad interest in Palestinian and comparative studies are invited to participate in the conference by submitting a paper on an aspect of the general theme. The Conference will provide hospitality to such participants but is unable to contribute to airfare.
It is expected that the proceedings of the Conference will be published and thus the expectation is that presentations will be of such quality as to warrant publication for the benefit of a larger audience.
The Conference will be held on the campus of Birzeit University, Birzeit , Palestine as well as at Rashad Shawwa Cultural Center in Gaza.. Presentations can be in either Arabic or English and there will consecutive translation. The Conference is scheduled for 13-16 December, 1996.
