Jerusalem- The Palestinian Legislative Council is planning to get connected to the Internet, the Council's speaker said during a visit to the offices of Internews Middle East.

Ahmad Qurei' (Abu Ala'a) said that the Palestinian Legislative Council will soon launch its own web site (in Arabic and English) which will include news about the council as well as laws passed by the Palestinian legislature and draft laws being discussed by the 88 person council.

Ahmad Qrie, Abu Ala, expressed his interest and satisfaction of the work done through AMIN, the Internet based press service helping Palestinian media. This was during a visit he paid to Internews Middle East headquarters in East Jerusalem on Thursday the 30 th of January.

The visit of Qurei'e to the offices of Internews came to organize a chat discussion on the Internet that he will be the host to. Subscribers to the Internet around the world (including the Arab world) will be able to interview the speaker of the Palestinian Council (both in English or Arabic) in the coming weeks. The interview will be hosted on the Arabic Media Internet Network (AMIN) which is organized by Internews Middle East.

Internews Middle East is a regional non governmental organization dedicated to the freedom of expression and press. Internews is involved in the Palestinian territories and in Jordan in programs of training journalists on the use of the Internet. Internews is active around the world by supporting independent media through training and product exchanges.
