      Teaching various courses including; Fluid Mechanics I, Fluid Mechanics II, Fluid Mechanics Laboratory, Thermodynamics, Thermodynamics Applications, Heat Transfer, Measurement Lab., Experimental Methods Lab., and Energy Conversion.

      Supervising the Engineering Workshops.

      Supervising more than 20 students graduation projects in the area of renewable energy and energy conservation. Examiner for more than 50 graduation projects in the department.

      Participation in the selection and ordering of the Fluid mechanics, Thermodynamics, and Heat transfer laboratories equipment.

      Chairman of the Mechanical Engineering Department, Birzeit University for the academic years 1985 - 1987, 1989 - 1991, and 1997-1999. Assistant to the chairman of the department for the academic year 1984.

      Coordinator of the general lectures program at the Mechanical Engineering Department, responsible for arranging and inviting speakers to the department.

      Supervising and coordinating the students practical training program at local institutions and firms.

      Contact person for cooperation between the department and the University of Aachen in the solar energy program .

(ii) Standarization committee of solar water heaters.

(iii) Standarization committee of LPG bottles

(iv) Standarization committee of petroleum products.

Consultations to various Palestinian institutions in energy matters, including:

(i) Palestinian Central Statistical Bureau, local data on wind and solar energy

(ii) Palestinian Energy Authority , preparing terms of reference for the proposal Energy Strategies in Palestine, which is supported by the EU.
 
 

Consultant for the Palestinian Energy and Environment Center PEC during 1995, in the area of renewable energy and energy conservation. Activities included:

(i) preparing proposals , some of which were accepted for support by the EU

(ii) representing PEC in various conferences such as:

a- Work shop on solar energy applications Tel Aviv 1996.

b- Meeting of Arab experts in renewable energy , Amman 1996
 
 

(iii) conducting workshops in solar and wind energy applications

(iv) carrying out the study “ Assessment of renewable energy in Palestine“ published by PEC 1996 and was supported by the Netherlands Government.

(v) survey and study of solar water heaters manufacturers in Palestine.

British Council Scholarship: six months attachment at Reading University U.K. research and courses in renewable energy.

 DAAD of Germany: three months study visit to Fraunhofer Institute of Solar Energy at Freiburg. Working with water desalination and TRNSYS program, two papers were published as a result of this work ( number 13 and 16 above ).

Save the Children Federation:

a) Biogas project: design, building and testing of biogas digester at a local cows farm.

b) Water desalination: developing a small sea water desalination unit for Gaza.

French Consulate - Jerusalem, one month study visit to France, University of Paris the Seventh.1995.
