Was appointed as Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Birzeit University in November 1994 after spending 6 years as a research fellow at the University College London and Imperial College. His main research interests include designs for high pressure engineering facilities, fatigue testing of metallic materials, cutting using high pressure abrasive water jets, nondestructive testing, tribology and tribology of thin plastic films. Currently researching the use of high pressure water jets in cutting and shaping building stones used in the West Bank .
