Manal and any other readers that are interested, the ADC is
running adds in all the major newspapers which will be focused on
the brutal forces of the Israeli's against the Palestinian
people. It also demands an end to the Israeli occupation among
other things. They do need financial support to keep adds like
this running. The ADC also keeps you aware of issues that arise
which require action. Such action can be to contact your congress
man or woman to voice your opinion. There are many other things
the ADC has going on that requires support. Please visit their
website at www.adc.org. I had also asked the ADC how I can help
the Palestinians abroad. They had referred me to The National
Arab American Medical Association. This association is a
non-profit, non-political, educational and charitable
organization of medical professionals of Arab descent. NAAMA~s
Foundation is the charitable and humanitarian arm of the
association. They have established a fund (the NAAMA-Palestine
Fund)to collect donations for the desparately needed medical
supplies. This is their address where donations can be sent as
well as their email address if you'd like more information.
National Arab-American Medical Association 801 S. Adam Rd., Suite
208 Birmingham, MI 48009-7025 Phone: 248-646-3661; FAX:
248-646-0617 http: www.naama.com **I've been told that donations
made are tax deductable.** You've often times may hear the
phrase, "perception is reality". I'm personally doing
all that I can to change the negative perception of the
Palestinian people into the positive reality in which it is. This
may not directly help the Palestinians in their fight to freedom,
but by building awareness and changing the negative views,
there's a chance that a more positive image can be passed on and
will continue to grow from there. These "changed" views
per se, can be the future supporters of the Palestinian cause.
"It's not worth it", some say. "It won't change a
thing", some say. I'm chosing to be more optimistic. I'm
trying to humanize what the US and the media here often times
dehumanizes. It doesn't take money, just a voice to be heard.
Please let me know if you'd like any additional informaiton.

Yesterday, I was looking at the newspaper and reading about
Palestine. I made me sick to my stomach. I don't like to see my
country destroyed like that. Too bad our government has chosen to
take one side. They always will. That's the sign of unfair and

Why does the American people only care about the Isreal
people. The American should care about the palestinians more. We
only want our land back that the Yahood took from us in the
1940s. The palestinians will do anything to get our land back. We
should pray for the people who lost there lifes fighting to get
peace and the land back to the palestinians.

After viewing all the media coverage, I decided to look a
little further into the issues surrounding the current struggle
between the Palestinian and Israeli people. It is very
heartbreaking to watch the scenes unfold before you on the
television. Rockets, gunfire, rocks, etc... As the season that is
most Holy comes upon us- Christmas-one has to think ..."in
what direction are we heading?" We have to keep in mind that
the grounds where this ongoing struggle is permeating is the same
that important events- sacred- events have happened. I sometimes
wonder to myself what would Jesus say if he were to see this?
Because of the proximity between both peoples and history, they
are practically kin. Yet, peace and love can not seal this
ongoing hatred and negativity. What are our children to perceive
from this? I am not in any way implying that the past events
should simply be forgotten, no. In no way have any of the stances
being used currently by the Israelis be exonerated at all. My
heart goes out to the Palestinian people whom are seen defending
their traditions and beliefs with the only defense available to
them, rocks. How many more lives must be taken from either side?
How far must this go? It is times like this that I wonder what
ideas might have been used by Mother Theresa. I pray for a
resolution to this situation. Peace and most important, faith, is
what we need at this point. Faith has proved to move mountains as
proved by the Holy Bible. Although, I might not be fully of
arabic origin, I do feel the pain suffered in that region.
However, even if that were not the case, we are all united in the
human race before the one that will judge us in the end, GOD.
Aside from all the present movements forged to instill
tranquility and peace in that region, there is one arm that we
all have. One that we can all use to help combat the hatred and
ongoing struggle, prayer. With the utmost sincerity in my heart,
I hope one day that all the people of Ramallah, their children,
and surrounding neighbors can one day laugh and rejoice with
tranquility in their hearts and minds with the one item that has
been fought for, peace.

Ok... So this morning I'm leaving my hotel room in Phili
and see the USA Today outside my room. I picked it up and thought
I'll read it on the plane on my way back home. I'm glad I did! On
page 8A there was a FULL PAGE of enlarged pictures of the
"slain Palestinian farmer Faried Nassrah"'s family. The
pictures showed his mother, his children, father, brother and
then one picture of an Israeli tank. Ironically, the article that
was mainly written in large bold letters was titled "EIGHT
ARRESTED IN LYNCHING OF ISRAELI SOLDIERS". However there was
a small little tiny article towards the bottom titled,
"PALESTINIANS MOURN FARMER SHOT BY SETTLERS". To me,
although the larger print title about the arrests stands out way
more than the tiny little farmer article.... the pictures send a
far greater message then any of the words. Going in further on
page 18A there was a page continuing the story of the USS Cole.
However, almost one half of that page was an adverstisement
called "DON'T BLAME THE VICTIMS". The advertisement is
sponsored by the ADC, AMC, AA, CAIR... all arab and arab muslim
and Islamic organizations. It is a VERY POWERFUL advertisement
about Palestinians and how they're dying in pursuit of freedom.
If you would like to know what it says, please feel free to email
me. The most important part of this is how you can SHOW SUPPORT
of justice for the Palestinians by making a CONTRIBUTION. I
encourage all of us to do what we can to help our people. No
amount is too small. Please email me and I'll give you that
information as well. And it doesn't end here!! Further along on
26A there's an article called "USA TOO CLOSELY LINKED TO
ISRAEL". In all the reading I've been doing, I'm starting to
see some changes where they are not so one-sided all of the time.
There are others out there that do see our side as well. However,
recognition of one side's opinion is one thing.... recognition of
their freedom and independence is another.

It's really unfortunate about whats going on in ramallah,
and I wish them all the best to try to get things resolved. Most
of my "southern friends" side with us the palestinians,
b/c they know what their ancestors dealt with when they were
involved with the "war of northern
aggression"...Southerners are on our side, they know what
its like to fight a fight against a foe who has better weaponry

Hi! I came upon your web site after watching the seemingly
one-sided news about events in Palestine. I am Italian-American,
but am keenly interested in the mideast situation and the
seemingly biased reporting on the American news. I just saw brief
news clips of the demonstrations in from of the UN in NY either
Fri. or Sat. This country is so TILTED towards supporting Israel
that it begs questioning. What is uncomprehensible is how our
Country can support Israel's use of helicopter gunships, tanks,
etc. against youths armed with sling-shots and stones. At least
that's what my wife and I have observed on TV. Why don't we see
more Arab-American, Palestinian-American spokesmen on the talk
shows giving their position? Is our American Media Biased? Seems
so to me. I don't think Arafat should back down one iota from
what the Palestinians want. I'm old enough to remember some
European Jews coming down from Europe after WWII and
"wresting" land from the Palestinians.

JERUSALEM - Israeli soldiers shot and
critically injured a Palestinian farmer who, his family said, was
riding his donkey near a Jewish settlement in the West Bank,
prompting the army Saturday to apologize for the shooting.
Ibrahim Abu Turki, 38, a father of 10, was in a coma with a
bullet injury to the head and was hooked up to a respirator at
Jerusalem's Hadassah Hospital. The army said that a soldier
intended to fire warning shots and inadvertently wounded Abu
Turki on Friday. Turki's brother, Abdel Majid, was killed in 1998
on the same road, only about a mile away from Friday's shooting
incident. In the slaying two years ago, Abdel Majid Abu Turki was
killed by a Jewish teen-ager who was riding in a van carrying
troubled youths from a nearby settlement. The teen reached out
the window and struck Abu Turki with a length of wood as the van
passed. On Friday, Ibrahim Abu Turki was riding on his donkey, en
route from his hamlet of Khirbet Kikles to the nearby town of
Hebron to buy food for his family when he was shot, said his
cousin, Mahfouz Abu Turki. It was about 2 p.m. in the afternoon
when he passed a group of soldiers, the family said. Col. Noam
Tibon said a soldier ''fired toward a Palestinian whose behavior
was perceived to be suspicious.'' Tibon did not said what Abu
Turki did to arouse the suspicion of the soldier. ''The soldier
that spotted the Palestinian intended to fire warning shots and
mistakenly injured him,'' Tibon said. An army helicopter flew Abu
Turki to Hadassah Hospital. Tibon said that the soldier who shot
Abu Turki has been removed from combat service and may face
trial. The army expressed sorrow over the shooting and said it
planned to apologize to the family directly.

I am confused. In the 2nd Presidential debate Bush sounds
like he gives a damn about Arab-Americans he actually bothers to
mention Arab-Americans in his debate about Americans who need to
be recognized for how disrespectfully they are treated then with
this recent Palestine-Israel violence he says that Arafat is to
blame. Isn't he contradicting himself(again). Anyone notice that
on the news? Also,my prayers to the US Navy men bombed on the USS
Coles that has to be the worse for their families. Senseless so
senseless this violence of humans!

Gulf Arab states today slammed
Israel’s airstrikes and called on the world to protect
Palestinians. Jordan’s King Abdullah held crisis talks with
Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak to discuss the violence.
Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa said: “We hope the
Israeli side will stop its use of power and attacks against the
Palestinian people in order to calm down the dangerous
situation.” In Syria, President Bashar al-Assad voiced
strong support for the Palestinians, telling British and European
Union envoys that Israel would be the loser in the end. In Iraq,
the state news agency INA said that more than half a million
Iraqis had volunteered to fight with the Palestinians against
Israeli troops. Guard Division Begins Movement An elite Iraqi
Republican Guard division has begun moving westward from its base
in Baghdad along with tanks but did not appear to present any
immediate threat to Iraq’s neighbors, U.S. defence officials
said today. The officials, who asked not to be identified, said
U.S. intelligence had detected the movement by the Hammurabi
Division, composed of about 15,000 Special Republican Guard
troops, within the past 24 hours. Oman, one of two Gulf Arab
states with ties to Israel, said it was closing its trade office
in Tel Aviv and the Israeli mission in Muscat in support of the
Palestinians. Oman and Qatar set up low-level ties with Israel
after the Jewish state and the Palestinians reached their 1993
peace deal. But both states froze steps toward normalization of
relations with Israel in 1997 over what they saw as hard-line
Israeli policies and the stalling of the peace process.

I am thoroughly disgusted by what's been going on in the
Middle East. Now is the time to get our voices heard. MSNBC has a
message board that I would encourage everyone to post a message
supporting the Palestinian cause. I posted a message pointing out
what the Israelis were doing to Palestinians and I was
overwhelmed by the positive response I received from others.
People around the world are starting to realize the brutality
that is being imposed on the Palestinians by Israelis, but
unfortunately money talks. We shouldn't be upset by any setbacks.
At least a spotlight is being shone on this very important topic;
unfortunately it was only after hundreds of Palestinians had to
be killed and thousands wounded. All we need to do is inform
people about the truth in a calm and civilized way and we can
accomplish anything! This topic stirs up so many emotions for me
sometimes it's hard to do that, but the more detailed info we can
provide the better off we will all be!

amazing.....just scanning these entries reveals how
un-centered and ashamed many americans are of their arab

dutch-american, chinese (fob or abc) - american...or
anything....except ARAB-american.........WHY? Because american
(and generally western)society still has not come to terms with
what it means to be ARAB. The old orientalist TE Lawrence of
Arabia-esque dirty arab terrorist ethnic stereotype still sticks
to us as strong as ever..........thats why. The issue here is
about starting with self-respect as an ARAB and insisting on and
standing up for societal acceptance and respect as an
ARAB-AMERICAN. Its a daily struggle and its one we have to teach
to our children. A lesson that seems to have been lost upon many
of you. Salam to all of you.

I urge you all to not vote for either of the incompetents
running for presidency. Please look at some of their recent
quotes... GORE: ``I want to call on Chairman Arafat to issue
instructions to those who have been perpetrating the violence to
cease and desist. It is time to start building again on the
relative progress of the previous few days. That can still be
done to end the violence and damp down tensions.'' OK... someone
enlighten me... why call on just Arafat? This statement suggests
that the Palestinians are the sole perpetrators of violence. And
the "past few days" there were Palestinians being
killed, not 2 Israeli soldiers... therefore he refers to those
days as "relative progress"!?! And the other
incompetent... BUSH: Arafat, he said, ``must stand up and call on
his people to put down their rocks and arms.'' hmmmm "put
down their rocks and arms" huh?... wow! what a strong
message from a potential future leader. Neither of them mentioned
Israel or Barak perpetrating violence or "putting down"
their ROCKets and fireARMS. You're all free to do as you please,
but I again urge you not to vote for either of them. They're not
worthy of an arabs vote.

The five children of martyr Issam Joudeh, 40, from Um Safa
Village in Ramallah, will not be able to enjoy the warmth and
affection of their father again after a group of settlers had
killed and tortured their father in a very atrocious manner.
Issam had expressed his fears one day before he got killed
regarding the dangerous moves of the settlers, especially that
his house is located at the far end of the village. Issam
disappeared at around 3:00 p.m. last Sunday when he got in his
car to head to work but was faced with an Israeli military
vehicle on the road; he tried to escape but they followed him,
shot at the car until he stopped and was taken away. That was the
last time he was seen. IssamEs wife found her husbandEs body in
the fields on Monday morning. Dr. Hosni Atari, the director of
Ramallah hospital, said that Issam's death is due to fractures
and various burns and beatings. Dr. Atari said that it is clear
that his scull was fractured as well as clear signs of severe
beatings in the neck, chest and abdomen in addition to the
various degrees of burns all over his body. There was no trace of
bullets in his body but his features due to the brutality were
mutilated. It is not easy to show these pictures, but these
photographs are another witness to the extremist actions taking
place in Palestine. Please view them with care. Israeli MYTH j
Israeli commander came on national Israeli TV last night and
stated that this was a death due to a bad car accident!!!!! May
Issam rest in peace! His memory will never die.

Current views of the odious Israeli racism Israeli soldiers
humiliate Palestinian workers Israeli soldiers attempt to rape
three teenagers. Forcing a worker to march on thorns for one km.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Roni Even, an Israeli soldier, confessed that his two comrades in
a Boarder Guard Police Unit took memorial photos while treading
over the necks of three Palestinian workers from Abu Dis
identified as Ahmed Darwish, Faisal Rabee' and Isa Ammar.
Expressing happiness were the facial expressions of the three
Israeli soldiers while taking these photos, while heartlessly
treading over the necks of the " slaves" for being only
Palestinians. This view brings back to minds the memories of
previous years when European Jews were humiliated because of
their religious believes. It also reminds us of the Nazi tyranny
against the Jews in Germany and other European countries. After
being arrested, the three Jewish soldiers confessed horrible
ideas in this regard like beating Arabs is something normal and
its very common to cease any opportunity to slap them. Even,
18-year soldier, Bitah Tikva, said that this is not the first
incident of this kind, Border Guard Police soldiers often
perpetrates such attacks. Liasi Mily, the second suspected
soldier, confessed that he only helped beating the Palestinians
and he acted only the way his comrade Aharon Salman, who was
proved by the Israeli Police Investigation Office to be the main
attacker, convinced him to do. Salman was olso found to incite
his other two comrades to slap and punch the three workers. The
Israeli Magistrate court extended on Friday Sept. 8 the three
suspects detention five days more. The judge of the court,
Shalumeet Dotan said that the violence perpetrated by the three
Israeli soldiers against the plaintiff is both dangerous and
brutal to read, or even to imagine, the way it is stated in the
investigation file. The police lawyer, Michael Herovitch, said
that this is an extraordinary dangerous practice, therefore, his
clients should be released. It is worth mentioning that this
brutal attack took place on Wednesday 6/9/2000 when the police
forces stopped the young men's car to make a "security
check". It was when they discovered that they are Arabs, the
Israeli soldiers attacked them with peerless brutality!!
Continuos attacks Late 1996, the Israeli television displayed a
report in which two Israeli Border Police admitted that this was
not unextraordinary practice. Two hundred and thirty seven other
similar attacks were recorded since 1996, he added. A
videocassette revealed other contaminants and maltreatment
perpetrated by Israeli occupation police forces against
Palestinians. Ma'areve Newspaper reported that the Israeli forces
filmed this videocassette during the bloody confrontations in the
Palestinian areas in the awake of the opening of the tunnel under
Al Aqsa Mosque. It further reported that the cassette shows
Israeli Police Forces arresting a Palestinian and beating and
containmenting him. On an electricity pole In another attack,
" Jewish religious men" from Ashdod tied a Palestinian
to an electricity pole for 16 hours until their religious
Saturday was over. On March 26, Ma'areve reported that the Jewish
Religious men arrested the Palestinian under the pretext of
trying to steal a car. After brutally beating him, they tied him
to the pole. On Bethlehem - Jerusalem checkpoint, the Palestinian
Bahaa Ali Mohammed Oweda from Anata was arrested and beaten under
the pretext of objecting to giving him a traffic ticket. Oweda's
left eye was severely injured as a result of being attacked. He
was taken handcuffed to the Israeli police station in Jerusalem
(Al Quds, 19/7/1999).

Palestinians and Israelis have for one another. Though I applaude
the Palestinians for keeping there patience in having to deal
with the mayor of Jerusalem. The lack of class he displayed
towards Hanan Ashrawi, Ted Koppel and the rest of the panelists
was a disgrace to all his people. I respect Naomi on the Israeli
side, trying to focus on the real issues. For those of you who
didn't see the program she voiced the Palestinians need their own
land. Jerusalem should be split with East Jerusalem becoming the
capitol of Palestine and West Jerusalem the capitol for Israel.
Although the Mayor reponsed to Hanan and Naomi "we will not
be dividing a city but uniting a city". The look he gave
Hanan Ashrawi at the end of his statement while telling her she
will NEVER live to see the day the city of Jerusalem will be
divided showed me that the Israelies do not want the fighting to
end. The ignorence displayed by the Mayor of Jerusalem is the
reason there will be no Peace in Palestine. Brigitte all we can
do is keep believing and praying that peace will come one day.
There are protests going on daily, also you can write letters of
protest to anyone and everyone who will listen. If you can come
up with anything else we can do I'm with you all the way. You
know how to get a hold of me. Until then Peace. Michelle

Well - I feel a little weird writing in this guestbook. I
guess b/c i feel more like a guest in the Palestinian community
than I ever realized. I guess that's why I am writing. I am not
sure if anyone watched the House Forum in Jerusalem with Ted
Koppel last night, but I stayed up to watch - and in that time -
so many emotions ran through me. Saddness for the innocent lives
that have been lost - Anger towards both Arabs and Israelis for
the way they handled the issues in that debate. Anger towards
Israelis for the violence and the killings. Frustration - so much
frustration at the situation as a whole. Those talks last night
helped me see so many things. 1) Arabs and Israelis are very
similar - which is probably why we can never agree on anything.
2) One of the greatest characteristics of the Arab people is
their undying passion - but it can also be our downfall. 3) The
young adults ( both Arab and Israeli) seem to be the ones that
are remembering whats really important - And that is peace. I
guess the purpose of my writing this is this: I want to help make
a constructive difference in the lives of Arab people. My people.
I never denounced the fact that I was a Palestinian. I went to a
high school with tons of Jewish kids - and I held my head high
and treated each person I knew as an individual and not as a race
or religion. B/c I didn't like being ostracized for being who I
was. I guess I just felt so out of place around so many of the
arabs I knew - that I let that cloud what was really important.
And it kept me jaded for a long time. And for that - I am ashamed
of myself. But regardless of all that has happened in the past
here in the US - The fact is - people are dying - and people will
keep dying if something isn't done. I know I can't change the
world - but I can change some things. I just don't know where to
start. Any suggestions??

As for the latest events happening in our beloved
Palestine, the federation has sent letters of protest and
condemnation to President Clinton and to Madeline Albright. Also
we have been participating in vigils and demonstrations in
Washington D.C., Detroit and around the country.

With all the violence and killing in our homeland it is
quite surprising to me that our very own Ramallah Federation has
not issued any sort of public condemnation of israel and its
current massacre of our people. At least nothing that I have
seen. I certainly not have recieved any notice of local protests
or rally's organized or at least supported by the Ramallah
Federation. If any of this has been done, I would certainly like
to know. Because at this point, I am a little disappointed in the
Federation's lack of activity in accordance with the current
situation back home. Especially when there is quite a lot of
"happenings" IN Ramallah. I know we are not a political
organization, but even a little blurb written on the
"homepage" of this site publicizing the fact that our
people are being killed on a daily basis by israeli brutality
would be nice to see. Of course this all my have been done
unbeknownst to my knowledge, seeing as how i am busy with school.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this issue? thank

"The Israeli's control the policy in the congress and
senate... somewhere around 80 percent of the senate of the United
States is completely in support of Israel-- of anything Israel
wants..." Chairman Sentor Fullbright on CBS "Face The
Nation" In the Article's of Confederation, the issue's of
Constitutional Provisions Relating to the Presidency is a great
example of what kind of power our president has. His role in this
country is not even addressed until Article 2. The Senate is in
Article 1. It does not matter if we have a president that
supports the Arabs, more than half of the senate does not. I am
not saying that you should not voted for the canaidate that you
think is worthy of the position, I'm just saying that its not
going to have a great impact on the Arab world.

It is a shame, having to sit home and watching on a local
TV News station one of our children being shot to DEATH for no
apparent reason. We as arab need to stick together through thick
and thin. Granted that was not my child that got shot, but I tell
you one thing, that night was the worst sleep I ever had. Just to
see him alive and one second later being shot in front of his dad
and national TV. It put a hole in my heart as well as my wive the
same. We need to voice all our concerns to the White House and
let them know we have had enough of the blood shed. Here in San
Diego we have been on the local news voicing our concerns. I urge
all of you to do the same. Peace will exist as long there is love
in the heart. With out love in the heart, we will NEVER have a
home land to call our own. We need to live in harmony with the
yahood, that's the only way it will work.

Hey Angie, I agree with you about the presidential
campaigns, and i am honestly disgusted with the whole concept.
The billions of dollars wasted into choosing one man to take
power, and not even running the country like it should be.
Although, thats not going to change, so we all should vote- but i
would definitely vote for BUSH!! I am not being judgmental
against Gore because of his illiterate Jewish vice president...
but every Arab needs to realize that if we donŠt want a
second ISRAEL... we cannot have Gore as President of this
country. Besides the fact they are Zionists, the aid we give to
Israel will positively increase if Gore/Lebierman are elected.
Now is the time every Arab in American needs to vote, but not for
Gore! Allah Ma'ak everyone :)

HI EVERYONE, I HAVEN'T WRITTEN IN A LONG TIME BUT I WAS
JUST WONDERING WHAT EVERYONE'S THOUGHTS WERE REGARDING THE
PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE! I DID NOT WANT TO BE PREJUDICE AND NOT VOTE
FOR GORE BECAUSE HE HAS A JEWISH VICE PRESIDENT OR BUSH BECAUSE
OF WHAT HIS FATHER DID WITH THE GULF WAR SO I WANTED TO GIVE THEM
A FAIR SHOT AND LISTEN TO THEIR ISSUES AT THE DEBATE! I WAS VERY
DISSAPOINTED WITH THE OUTCOME OF THE DEBATE! EVERY QUESTION THAT
WAS ASKED OF EACH CANDIDATE WAS NOT EVEN ANSWERED! GORE AND BUSH
QUICKLY ANSWERED LEARY BY SAYING "OH, THAT'S A GOOD QUESTION
AND MY PLAN IS IF ELECTED....." BLAH-BLAH-BLAH! THEY
BASICALLY JUMPED AROUND THE QUESTION CLEARLY NOT STATING WHAT
THEY WOULD DO REGARDING EACH ISSUE! I WAS DISGUSTED THE WAY EACH
CANDIDATE CONSTANTLY SHOT DOWN THE OTHER PERSON AND THEN
RETALIATED IN THEIR DEFENSE WHEN THEY WERE SHOT DOWN! HOW CAN YOU
EVEN THINK OF ELECTING ONE OF THESE MEN TO REPRESENT THE USA WHEN
THEY BOTH ACTED AS IF THEY WERE TWO YEAR OLDS? MY MAIN CONCERN OF
WATCHING THE DEBATE WAS TO SEE HOW THEY WERE GOING TO HANDLE
INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS AND OF COURSE THEY DID NOT MENTION A WORD
OF IT!! ALL THE ISSUES THE CANDIDATES KEPT COMMENTING ON WERE
PROMISES OF TAX CUTS, IMPROVED SOCIAL SECURITY PORGRAMS,
PRESCRIPTION DRUG PLANS, AND MILITARY STRENGTHENING!! WELL I'M
SORRY TO INFORM THEM BUT EVERYTHING THAT CAN BE DONE FOR THIS
COUNTRY HAS BEEN DONE!! ALL THESE PROMISES HAVE BEEN MADE BEFORE
AND EVERYONE VOTING KNOWS THAT NOTHING ELSE CAN BE DONE AND WON'T
BE DONE!! THIS COUNTRY IS AT A STABLE POINT IN EDUCATION,
ECONOMY, AND ANY OTHER ISSUE PEOPLE FEEL THEY HAVE THE RIGHT TO
COMPLAIN ABOUT!! I FEL NOTHING WILL CHANGE IN THIS COUNTRY IF
GORE OR BUSH ARE ELECTED! AFTER WATCHING THE DEBATE I AM SRONGLY
LEADING TOWARDS VOTING FOR RALPH NADER, NOT BECAUSE HE IS
LEBANESE, BUT BECAUSE OF HIS ISSUES REGARDING INTERNATIONAL
AFFAIRS!! RALPH NADER WAS INVITED TO THE DEBATE BECAUSE HE IS A
GREEN PARTY CANDIDATE WHO HAS NOT RECEIVED 15% OF THE VOTES, SO
PEOPLE DID NOT GET A CHANCE TO SEE HIS VIEWS OPPOSED TO GORES AND
BUSHS! THE UNIVERSITY I GO TO IS HEAVILY POPULATED WITH ARABS AND
MY FRIENDS ARE GREATLY AFFECTED BY THE ISSUES IN THE MIDDLE EAST
NOW!! ONE OF MY FRIENDS HAS FAMILY MEMBERS BACK THERE AND IS SO
DISTRAUGHT THAT HE HASN'T EVEN EATEN IN A FEW DAYS SINCE HE'S
SICK WITH WORRY! HIS MIDDLE EAST CLASS SHOWED THE TAPE OF THE BOY
BEING SHOT THREE TIMES AND HE COULDN'T TAKE ANYMORE OF IT! THIS
IS THE ISSUE AT HAND THAT SHOULD BE ADDRESSED AND IS NOT!! THERE
WAS A POLITICAL MARCH ON MONDAY IN CHGO IN CITY HALL AND I HAD NO
IDEA IT WAS BEING HELD!! I UNDERSTANND 8000 PEOPLE SHOWED UP TO
EXPRESS THEIR OPINIONS! ANOTHER MARCH WILL BE HELD THIS FRIDAY AT
4 PM!! IF ANYONE HAS ANYMORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE RALLY'S,
ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE MIDDLE EAST ISSUES, OR ANYTHING ELSE THAT
CAN HELP PLEASE INFORM AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN BECAUSE IF
ENOUGH PEOPLE UNITE SOMETHING CAN BE DONE AND ACCOMPLISHED!!
DON'T FORGET TO SPREAD THE WORD ABOUT RALPH NADER! VISIT

To all my fellow Palestinians, I have recently moved to
Jacksonville from Washington D.C and I am attedning UNF. With all
the inhumane atrocities occuring in Palestine, I am appalled by
the lack of effort and motivation by the Palestinian community in
Jacksonville to make our stance known. The community in this city
is very large, but quite inactive. Why is this so? There should
be a youth group organized to keep the younger members of our
community actively invoved in their culture and updated on the
current status of their country. The youth are the future and
will be taking leading positions as doctors, lawyers,
politicians, techers, ect.... They have an obligation to keep the
Palestinian community alive and prosperous. My concern lies in
the lack of effort to unify as one and stand up to the quiet, but
present anti-Palestinian movement. It would be nice to see the
community join together in protest against the current acts of
the Israeli people. We should take advantage of our large
community. With President Clinton's arrival in Jacksonville
today, protests should have been formed. We had the perfect
opportunity to stand up for our homeland. It is time to take a
stance and become involved. I heard there was a UNf Arab Student
Union. Does anyone know anything about it? Let me know any info
you have or comments. Thanks

EMERGENCY: I would like to propose that all Arab Americans
begin immediately to raise or donate money (hopefully millions)
to the beseiged Palestinian Auhtority Army who is under attack as
we speak by the Israeli occupying forces. The Jews raise a lot of
money (in America) to fund their military and so should we! I am
strongly encouraging all Arabs to donate as much as possible to
the PA or any other Palestinian organization, preferebly for PA
military use. The only way Palestine can exist is by force, this
is how Israel was created. Please please, donate all that you can
as soon as possible!!! The PA needs a lot more in terms of

acitivities are really a lot of fun including, ropes course
activities, snow tubing, a bonfire, etc.. (well that is what we
did last year) We haven't had updates about this year yet..One of
the best parts of the whole conference is the mountain we're
spending time on. The village is so beautiful and peaceful and if

Sophia, You are right in that during most arab functions,
news reports seem to be limited, however, for this event I saw
many articles in Detroit regarding this rally. I'll send you some
of them if you like. I also saw some news reports on local
television stations. I am mad I couldn't make it, but these kind
of events are important for public awareness that will ultimately
cause policy change and ideological change.

I just wanted to mention that I was at the very large
Palestinian protest in Washington DC last Saturday. To me, it was
not only an obligation as an Arab, it was definitely an honor to
be with all of my people who were voicing the injustice that
affects all of the Arab people. I met many Arab intellectuals as
well as many Arab nationalists who share my feelings that we
Arabs should work together (regardless of the irrelevant
inter-leader bickering) to be on top of the world. Long live
Palestine and long live the Great Arab World who have
accomplished more than any people in the world throughout the
centuries !!!

I UNDERSTAND THE ARAB RALLY ON SATURDAY WAS A SUCCESS!!
WHAT I DIDNT UNDERSTAND IS WHY THERE HAS BEEN NO ARTICLES OR NEWS
ABOUT THE MARCH SINCE.... NOTHING IN THE NEWSPAPERS, NOTHING ON
TV... AS IF IT DIDNT EVEN HAPPEN. GOD KNOWS IF 5,000 JEWS STOOD
UP & DOWN DC MARCHING & FIGHTING FOR THEIR PEACE, IT
WOULD BE ALL OVER EVER FORM OF MEDIA THERE IS IN THIS COUNTRY. IM
WRITING A LETTER TO THE WASHINGTON POST, & ANA (ARABIC
CHANNEL) TV TO SEE IF THEY GOT ANY FOOTAGE ON IT- IF SO, STRONGLY
SUGGEST THEY PUT IT TO USE! AFTER ALL THE HARD WORK OF SO MANY
ARAB ORGANIZATIONS SUCH AS ADC, AAI & OUR PEOPLE FIGHTING FOR
OUR PEACE & RIGHTS- ITS ONLY RIGHT WE DO WHAT WE CAN TO HELP
ACCOMPLISH THAT GOAL. I HOPE EVERYONE CONTINUES TO DO THEIR BEST
& INSHALLAH ONE DAY WE WILL ALL BE HAPPY IN OUR LAND OF
PALESTINE :) GOD BLESS EVERYONE!

Hello. Just wanted to say that in 10 years we are going to
look back on our arguments in this Guestbook as childish, inane,
unnecessary and a waste of valuable time. It's been a while since
I have written in this Guestbook but that is because I have
realized how unnecessary it is...There is no point in arguing
here because in a few weeks no one is going to remember who you
are or what you said. Can we all have mature conversations?
Thanks for listening to my opinion. By the way, GO JAGUARS!!!!!!!

Ok, I have already stressed my opinion on how important it
is for us, as Palestinian-Americans to get out and VOTE our
choice in November (BUSH FOR PRESIDENT!) So, I wish to start a
conversation about College Football for all interested out there.
The season is upon us once again, and we have already seen some
amazing "mid-season" like games and upsets. Personally,
I am of course bias to the Univ. of Florida Gators and damn
proud!! Im not sure how many football fans there are that visit
this homepage but Id like to give the opportunity to all, fans or
not fans to ask a question or state there opinion on this season.
Can Notre Dame carry their momentum from their week 1 upset into
this week and beat Nebraska? Will Alabama recover from their
opening weak upset to re-claim their status as a National Title
contender? Has South Carolina "found the light" to have
at least a 6 win season? What is your favorite college football
rivalry and why? (Florida/Georgia, without a doubt!) I welcome
all educated opinions and questions.-------Proud to be a Florida
Gator---Nick.....PS---I do have a life and great study habits as
hard as that may be to understand by reading this stupid
entry....I just love college football! LOL

done so already, please register to vote. The deadline is

kristie, cheb mami is from algeria, he sings
"rai" music (which is roughly translated as
"opinion") as the youth wanted to speak out and be
heard. rai music was banned for many years by government
officials because lyrics were too racy for their society. check
out cheb mami's c.d.'s, they are wonderful and i'm sure that you
would enjoy them if you enjoyed the song on sting's album. also,
check out cheb khaled, cheb hasni, cheb kader, in fact, go to the
"world music" section of any music store and you will
find a wide variety of rai musicians. good luck, peace.......

Your right. The song by sting is very good. It has been out
for a while now and now they have some commercials using that
song. It is so cool. I already have the cd and cant wait for more
artists to use Arabic singers/music in their music. The rapper
Jay-Z has a song with Arabic music in the background. They know
who the best is. Later.
