Hi everyone, Just wanted to share some good news with you all. I have been awarded a teaching fellowship at the American University in Cairo beginning in the Fall term. If any of you have relatives attending AUC or live in the area tell them that AUC has a Palestinian English "fellow". I am hoping to do as much as I can in raising awareness about the injustices/ apartheid we Palestinians are suffering through. Any profs or others with suggestions please email me! Thanks!

Hello from Texas! It is so great to find such an energetic group of Palestinians. I am also a Palestinian with parents and ancestors from Haifa. I would love to attend the upcoming convention in San Francisco but was wondering if people who are not originally from Ramallah are invited. Thanks for letting me know! God bless all of you.

Hello and Marhaba to all Arabs everywhere in the US and around the world. We need to do a lot more in terms of lobbying our state representatives to make sure that the US stops aid to Israel as well as to pursue International War Crimes proceedings against the infamous killer Ariel Sharon. Much has been done against Milosevic (a longtime Arab ally and arms supplier), however the world (and especially the USA and UK) has done nothing when it comes to Zionist murderers such as Sharon. Please send emails and make phone calls to your state reps just as the Jews do everyday to impose their views and beliefs. We will definitely win on the battlefield in occupied Palestine and we will win the lobbying game too! The PA may also want to consider setting up a arms fund so that Palestinians and Arabs living abroad can donate money to the PA to purchase more weapons to defend themselves. This is exactly how the Israeli army was created in 1947-48. We can definitely raise hundreds of millions of dollars per year that will go to the heroes who are fighting Israel on the frontlines everyday. This will guarantee victory for the Arabs as opposed to stupid and useless Arab summits that are arranged by western-installed puppets and slaves. LONG LIVE Palestine and LONG LIVE all Palestinians and fellow Arabs who put their lifes on the line everyday fighting for justice and freedom!!

Hi There! I just stumbled on this sight. My husband's family is from Ramallah. My heart breaks for all the violence going on. I learned along time ago that the media is one sided. I watched a family video of a family wedding in Ramallah, I asked Yumma what the flashes were in the backround of the video. She said" they are bombs honey" My prayers are with all the reletives back there (There are many) Yumma tells my stories of what it was like back there. I enjoy them so much. She hasnt been back since coming to America, but still has many relatives there. Blessings and greetings to my family in Cleveland

We as Arabs and Palestinian should be proud of our accomplishments in the past few weeks. We united together and were able to overcome a Jewish national drive to drop down the ranking of the Palestinian Boy picture in the MSNBC survey. I think we sent a clear message that we could be just as strong and can defeat what in most people's mind is an indestructible Jewish lobby. The most effective way we can fight for our homeland is through our unity together as Arabs and Palestinians. Way to Go.

Have I missed this website before? I guess so. Lovely. My daughter lives in Ramallah and was married there last September to a Christian Arab in a beautiful ceremony. Of course, this was right before all the conflict began. I for one know that the Palestinians are a wonderful people. I met so many of them. At the wedding (400), at restaurants, in your local clubs, and while out shopping. The world IS WATCHING, and you are gaining ground. Hopefully, in a short time intervention will come by way of the UN. Remember, Israelies were like an abused child from a home where it was beaten, murdered, raped, and thrown out. Now, as the abused child often grows up to be, it (Israel) is now the abuser. They learned their lesson well at the hands of Hitler. They must over come these past lessons or they will indeed perish for -- "what goes around, comes around."

Sorry Ladies and Gentlemen, but we can no longer go on to nbc to vote for our favorite picture. It seems as if people that have already voted once, found a way to vote hundreds and thousands of times for the pic that they wanted to win. NBC decided to sop the voting. They said they will do it again next year. Now the picture will never be seen.

ACTION ALERT!!!! Let's show the yahood what we're made of! There is a photo contest at MSNBC going on where you vote for the best picture of the year--one of the pictures is of Mohammad Al Durra, the boy and the father who died in each others arms from Israeli gunfire. Well, that picture was number one until the Jews found out, and now their sending out a campaign to have every jew vote for dumb pictures of dogs and cats instead!!!! Now the Mohammad picture is in 4th place. So, we have to act fast--the link to vote is below--forward it to everyone you know and tell them to vote! Send it to friends, cousins, uncles, aunts, brothers, sisters....EVERYONE! LETS SHOW THEM WHAT WE"RE MADE OF!!!! There are a ton more Arabs in the world than Jews, so let's take advantage that we're the majority. Thank you so much in advance, I know we can prove a huge point by bringing this picture back to number one. http://www.msnbc.com/modules/surveys/twip/yip_2000_readers_.asp#survey To vote more than one, all you have to do is delete your "cookies" If you're on internet explorer, go to the top menu bar, hit options, then go to settings, click on "view all files" then when you see all the files, hit control a--this should highlight everything--hit delete--and you can vote as many times as you want!!! Take care, Desert Diva

Urgent Appeal from Birzeit University, Palestine LET OUR PEOPLE LIVE! March 10th, 2001 We, faculty and staff at Birzeit University, appeal to our colleagues and friends around the world to help us in delivering our simple but urgent message -- let our people live! We will be delivering this message in peaceful marches of protest to the Israeli soldiers and tanks that currently prevent us from reaching our University by the only road that allows accessibility and that has been recently blocked. The suffering of Palestinians in surrounding villages who are cut off from their livelihoods, health care, schools and markets is also acute. So far protests have only been met with bullets and tear gas. We need your help to bring our message to the world. The wave of violence against the Palestinian population has reached unprecedented proportions. The Israeli army's policy of siege through blocking roads and digging trenches around towns and villages has been escalating, making it practically impossible to meet people's very basic needs. This policy has now reached Birzeit University, preventing us and our students from reaching campus to continue our classes, labs and academic life. On 7 March 2001 in the dead of night, the Israeli army destroyed portions of the only road linking the University to Ramallah, gouging out trenches and destroying about 400 meters of asphalt. This damage to the only road linking Ramallah City to Birzeit village and 33 other villages with a population of about 65000 has resulted in the total disruption of daily life. To date, cars, ambulances and provisions are not able to cross to and from Birzeit and surrounding villages. Most Palestinian populated areas have already been hermetically sealed, disregarding all standards of dealing with civilians and contravening international law, particularly the Fourth Geneva Convention. These measures are, in the full sense of the term, war crimes. With these actions, it becomes clear that such policies are part of a long term strategy that Israel is pursuing in both the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. This strategy has been adopted by successive Israeli Governments, both of Barak and Sharon, in order to subjugate the entire population, and will them to accept the unacceptable. We call on you to ACT NOW: 1. Call for an immediate end to the closure policies. 2. Call for the international protection of the Palestinian population. 3. Demand that Israel abide by international law. Call the nearest Israeli Embassy in your area, or send your protests to the Israeli Government on these email addresses. Benjamin Beneliazer, Israeli Minister of Defense at sar@mod.gov.il and Shimon Peres, Israeli Foreign Minister at sar@mofa.gov.il For further follow up, please visit the Birzeit Website at www.birzeit.edu

Hello all :) I have been seriously considering developing youth projects in Palestine, specifically bringing Palestinian Youth back to Palestine for visits, tours, projects -a non-profit awareness and community service type project. I went to Palestine with the Ramallah Club back in 1993, at that time I was the youngest person on the trip. I am aware of Jewish programs, like "Birthright" (gag!), that bring american jews to our homeland to help these zionists fall in love with the land they stole from our families so that might continue to send money and lobby in the u.s. congress. anyhow i keep thinking that we need to organize and do something like that. i am currently living in cairo, egypt teaching english. i was going to teach in palestine but it seemed to risky when i was there back in september and october, both my aunt and her son's homes were burnt down. i strongly feel WE AS YOUNG AND OLD PALESTINIANS NEED TO ORGANIZE TO MAKE AN IMPACT. BACK HOME THEY NEED OUR HELP, THERE ARE SO MANY OBSTACLES THAT OUR FAMILIES FACE EACH DAY LACK OF CLEAN WATER, OBSTACLES IN COMPLETING THEIR EDUCATION, VIOLENCE ... please email me so that we can brainstorm on these issues. I am ready to work towards some kind of projects that strengthen and help Palestine and all of us Palestinians. I hope to meet and brainstorm with some like minded Palestinians. Please! we cant just sit back and watch the IDF strip us of our heritage and homeland. rana (currently in cairo)

Our picture is in the 5th place as of today and would like it to be #1....The #1 picture is of a dog...We think it's ridiculous. CNN reprted that Isrealis are casting their votes for that dog so that the palestinian picture doesn't make #1.... Please help and send this to any one who can take a minute out of their time so that the kid's death will always be remembered.. I just want to reiterate the March 1st entry about MSNBC. This is a prime example of how we can show our support. When I went to the link and voted for "A Death In Gaza", the results at the time put this picture in 6th place out of 49 pictures! Nothing against dogs or anything, but the top 3 pictures are pictures of dogs. I think the picture of poor Muhammad says alot more. Just as the Israeli Consulate solicited support against the picture, let's show our support for the picture and the message it tells the world. PLEASE VOTE http://www.msnbc.com/modules/surveys/twip/yip_2000_readers_.asp#survey

If I may - I want to say I am proud to be my parents daughter. while others are wondering what their roots are. I am 100% descendent of Ramallah. and for that I am proud. my parents were strict but also they were smart. because they were not strict in a harsh way. they were firm. Since I was a child my father told me I was going to college. and I learned to accept that as a fact. this taught me that he valued education. when I had a few in instances of "viewers" come to the house, he was polite and then when they would call back he would tell them that he was in no hurry for me to get married. He was a wonderful father and so was my mother. they were very tactful with me. I never dated in high school nor did I go to a prom or homecoming. Conveniently we were going to be out of town that weekend. looking back they were pretty smart. I only wish I could be as smart as they were. they would say in arabic "we will see" or "if God wills it" now I say it to my kids. If you like this I will get back with you again.

Dear fellow Palestinians all over the world, in the media war, where public opinion is concerned, we are still lacking moral support for our struggle from the side of the people in countries of the West. Even the more leftist groups within these countries are seriously lacking in speaking out for our cause, and supporting the Intifadah. This is a result of serious media manipulation by our enemies. To help counteract these influences, a Rap Song has been made for the Intifadah, that can be heard on-line (streaming mp3) or downloaded for free. The purpose is to spread this message, and let it be heard ... like a pamphlet but in the form of a rap. By clicking the link below, you can read the lyrics while listening to the song, or download it to help spreading it around the world. http://www.listeningroom.lycos.com/fan/bands/docjazz/Song_21169.html Palestinians and their supporters all over the world have to jump in to support the Intifadah, by any means. No effort should be wasted. Please help spread the word: the Intifadah will continue until victory! Doc Jazz

To Lora, I really liked that movie the princess and the marine.I thought it was a good movie and if I were in Mariams place I would have done the samething.Regardless of whatever anyone said or thought.More power to her.Im doing a survey on hate crimes and Id like to know what you guys think of the Matthew Shepard murder or the Teena Brandon rape and murder.Do you think they got what they deserved or do you think that nobody should suffer the way they both did.Ya know a hate crime occurs every hour of everyday.Take a stand against it.If you got any comments or questions feel free to ask.For more info on taking a stand go to MTv.com or www.hrc.org Thanx for your time.......

The message below is only an example of the messages being put out. The picture of "A Death in Gaza" has fallen from 1st to 2nd to 6th place in a poll on the MSNBC site. Please vote and forward the below link to everyone. If "A Death in Gaza" wins, the possible publicity would give us yet another opportunity by which to focus America's attention on Israeli brutality. http://www.msnbc.com/modules/surveys/twip/yip_2000_readers_.asp#survey Also included below is an email directly quoting an official from the Office of the Israeli Consulate as an illustration of the sort of Yahoodi propaganda we are trying to combat. From the Israeli Consulate Call for Action Dear Friends: Many of you have expressed interest in more actively supporting Israel, and we have tried to underscore to you the importance of showing America, Israel, and the world that you stand with us against Muslim extremism and media bias. Below is a perfect and easy opportunity to demonstrate your support. MSNBC is running a contest for photo of the year; among the contenders is the infamous photo of 12-year old Muhammad Durra. To us, this photographs epitomizes everything tragic about the present violence: children led into the crossfire by their own parents for publicity purposes. To much of the rest of the world, thanks to media misinformation and propaganda, it represents something far different. The Muslim and Arab community has whipped up an onslaught of support for this photo; we urge you to match and exceed their activism and organization by making certain that it does not win. Go to the website below, vote for one of the other photos, and forward the message to everyone on your mailing list. These, the small battles, can make a tremendous difference for public opinion here in America and for morale back home in Israel. We know you will not let this call go unheeded. "All of Israel is responsible each for the other." Thank you for your help. Meirav Eilon Shahar Consul for Communications and Public Affairs Consulate General of Israel in Los Angeles
