1948 Palestinians: Activism
Israel should fundamentally reconsider its sedentarisation policies into urban townships, that aim to minimise the land settled by the Arab Bedouin. As requested by Palestinian community representatives, Arab Bedouin should be allowed to establish agricultural villages.
Israel should review its policies towards the unrecognised villages, which through the denial of basic rights and home demolitions, constitute a policy of forced eviction. Israel should stop its policy of making the traditional Arab Bedouin livelihood unworkable through restricting Bedouin access to land and water, imposing flock restrictions and using the Green Patrol to maintain a backdrop of violence.
Policy towards the Arab Bedouin should be based on the right to equality, the right to be free from racial discrimination and the right to participate in policy design.
